The Club has once again been offered the opportunity by The GoodGuys Rod & Custom Association to be the Host Club at their 26th Summit Racing Lone Star Nationals to be held at the Texas Motor Speedway on Friday, September 28 through Sunday, September 30, 2018.
As the host club, we provide volunteers to assist with the event. As we have done for the past few years we need volunteers to help park cars in designated areas on Saturday (20 Volunteers) and on Sunday (10 Volunteers for two (2) shifts.
In addition, we have additional volunteer opportunities on Friday, Saturday and Sunday verifying participant tickets at the entrance to the south tunnel at TMS. This is called "Stubbing." Details of all volunteer opportunities are provided below.
The Goodguys Rod & Custom Association makes a substantial donation to LSCC, which helps fund many Club activities and charitable donations. In addition to free admission and parking for ALL THREE DAYS of the Event ($20 value), volunteers will receive the following:
- On Saturday, FREE Entry into the "Mighty Muscle Show" (If your cars is a '55-'87) for LSCC volunteers ($45 value.)(Good-Guys membership ($35) is needed for the entry to be put into the computer systems.) Since the cutoff year for the event is 1987 on Friday and Saturday, the vehicles would need to fit the cutoff year for the event.
- On Sunday, FREE Entry to the Super Sunday Get-Together ($30 value) that allows all LSCC members' domestic vehicles to come into the show and be judged.
- Preferred parking area at event for LSCC volunteers' cars and early entrance into event.
- GoodGuys will provide special event T-shirts with the Club logo for LSCC members who participate and work at the event.
- Host Club picture in the “Goodtimes Gazette” publication.
Friday, September 28, Volunteer Opportunity at the South Tunnel Enrance
Three shifts of volunteers are needed to assist GoodGuys staff with a ticket stubbing car gate at the south tunnel entrance. GoodGuys staff will provide training for this assignment, which requires standing and walking around cars entering the TMS infield. Don Steward or his assistant will the coordinator for "stubbing" for al three days.
Saturday, September 29, Volunteer Opportunity- Show Parking & "Stubbing"
Stubbing participants will assist with checking in show entrants. There are three (3) shifts. Show Parking will help set up and monitor special parking areas at the event. These special areas will be held on Saturday, September 29 from 5:30 am to 12:00 pm.
Volunteer shifts are further described in the registration process.
The arrival time for the setup of the show areas is 5:30 am on Saturday (Meet at the North Tunnel entrance of the track to pick up your T-shirt. LSCC reserved parking will be available inside the track. The firs and onlyt shift will run until 12:00 noon. Once your shift is complete, you are free to enjoy the show.
Saturday, September 29, Volunteer Opportunity at the South Tunnel Entrance

Sunday, September 30, Volunteer Opportunity
We will have two shifts on Sunday to help set up and monitor the Winners' Circle. The first shift is from 6:30 am until 11:00 am. The second shift starts at 10:30 am and will assist with the awards ceremony. The event ends around 3:00 pm.
The Winners' Circle is the area directly around the Cup Garage in the Speedway infield. Duties will consist of:

Assisting with the awards process, lining up the cars, etc until the awards program begins.

Sunday, September 30, Volunteer Opportunity at the South Tunnel Entrance
