Nocona, Texas is the home of the Pete Horton Car Collection. The collection has surpassed 200 cars, almost half Corvettes. Last year we were only able to see about 100 cars, as the addition to the museum building was not complete. It is finished now and we will view the entire collection.
As we have done in past years, we will meet in Denton and cruise some scenic two-lane roads to Nocona. Plans are to have lunch at Daddy Sam's Bar and Restaurant when we arrive and then tour the museum at leisure.
Other attractions include shopping in Nocona, nearby wineries and Fischer's Market in Muenster.
Last year, a few folks came up early on their own and had a great time. This year I was able to block 22 rooms in the Veranda Inn, so we are offering an option to expand the cruise. We will go up on Friday and have a cookout Friday evening. Saturday morning we will meet up with the cruisers from Denton. Tentative plans for Saturday evening is a dinner cruise to one of the steakhouses near Nocona.
