Corvette and Chevy Show Returns October 1st;
18th Annual Show and Fundraiser at John McLaren Chevrolet
The Cen-Tex Corvette Club of Waco will host the 18th Annual Great American Corvette and Chevy Day Saturday October 1st at John McLaren Chevrolet in McGregor. Show time is from 9am until 3pm. The general public is invited to view, photograph and visit with all participants. Kids will get a free picture of themselves sitting in a vintage corvette racecar.
Car registration is from 8am-10am with a fee of $25 in advance, $30 day of show. The first 100 entries receive a free T-Shirt. Judging is from 10am-2pm, a silent auction from 9am-1:30pm. Awards will be presented at 3pm.
All year models of Corvettes and Chevrolets are invited to attend. Corvettes from the mid-50’s to current 2016 models will be on hand. Many “showroom fresh” Vettes and race and custom Chevys will be on display. The general public is invited to join in the show with their own Chevy and GM powered vehicles including Pontiac, Olds and Chevy powered Fords.
Club President Mike Meyers is looking forward to a huge turn-out. “We’ve always had excellent participation. This is more like a big friendly family reunion and I think this year’s show will be even more special. Our club plus other area ‘Vette Clubs have worked extra hard to get the word out to all Chevy owners to come out and show what they’ve got.”
The Cen-Tex Corvette Club is providing a unique opportunity for all attendees; the public will vote for special awards, including People’s Choice, Kid’s Choice and Most Likely to Get Pulled Over! Other categories up for public voting include Best Under Construction and Most Unique Chevy Powered.
Proceeds of the show will benefit “Helmets of Love” in memory of Madison Pierce. Helmets of Love is a non-profit organization that provides bike and ATV helmets for youth. This program is operated strictly from donations and fund raising efforts by volunteers.
