Our Club has once again been offered the opportunity by The GoodGuys Rod & Custom Association to be the Host Club at their 28th Summit Racing Lone Star Nationals. It will be held at the Texas Motor Speedway on Friday, September 25, through Sunday, September 27, 2020. GoodGuys has resumed their full fall schedule and has added additional health and safety measures to ensure a safe environment at TMS for all participants, attendees, and vendors.
As the host Club, we have many volunteer opportunities available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to verify participant tickets at the entrance to the South tunnel at TMS. (This is called "Stubbing.") In addition, on Saturday we we assist with the parking of cars in designated areas of the infield for judging. On Sunday, we coordinate the staging of Winners' cars for the awards ceremony that afternoon.
Details of all volunteer opportunities are provided below:
The GoodGuys Rod & Custom Association makes a substantial donation to LSCC, which helps fund many Club activities and charitable donations. In addition to free admission and parking for ALL THREE DAYS of the Event ($55 value), volunteers will receive the following:
- On Saturday, FREE Entry into the "Mighty Muscle Show" (If your cars is a '55-'87) for LSCC volunteers ($45 value) Good-Guys membership ($35) is needed for the entry to be put into the computer systems. Since the cutoff year for the event is 1987 on Friday and Saturday, the vehicles would need to fit the cutoff year for the event.
- On Sunday, FREE Entry to the All American Sunday ($30 value) that allows all LSCC members' domestic vehicles to come into the show and be judged no matter what the model year.
- Preferred parking area at event for LSCC volunteers' cars and early entrance into event.
- You and your guest will receive a special event T-shirt with the Club logo for each day you work the event.
